The VOSTA LMG - Karnafuly Joint Venture Consortium Limited has signed a contract with the Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB). The contract is signed for the delivery of two CSD 650 including components for a floating pipe line for both dredgers.

VOSTA LMG's partner yard J.J. Sietas KG has delivered the first Trailer Suction Hopper Dredger ‘Werner Möbius' in Hamburg on Friday December 3rd. The ship is delivered to owner Josef Möbius Bau-Aktiengesellschaft, an affiliated company of the Austrian STRABAG AG.
Heavy-duty CSD ‘Al Jarraf’ launched at ASL Shipyard

Al Jarraf, meaning ‘dredging vessel' in Arabic, has been launched on Wednesday October 27 at the ASL Shipyard in Singapore. VOSTA LMG is responsible for the design, supplied the components and developed the dredging technology together with MEDCO and DEME. VOSTA LMG built the main dredging components in Asia, 100% to European standards. Owner of the vessel is Middle East Dredging Company (MEDCO), a partnership between DEME, United Development Company (UDC), and the Qatari government.
BIWTA-delegation in Europe for pre-shipment inspection

A delegation from the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority, headed by BIWTA-Chairman Abdul Meleque Miah, visited Europe in May. The main purpose of the trip was the pre-shipment inspection of the components for three cutter suction dredgers to be built at Chittagong-based Karnafuly Shipyard, whose Managing Director M.A. Rashid was among the delegates.
VOSTA LMG receives an order for CSD500

VOSTA LMG has been awarded a contract for a cutter suction dredge CSD500 by JORDAN MODERN INDUSTRIES. The standard dismountable cutter suction dredge will be equipped with a VOSTA LMG dredge pump type VL500, a hydraulically driven VOSTA TSC04 cutter head and VOSTA LMG swivel bend and anchor booms.
Sietas and VOSTA LMG build two TSHDs for Josef Möbius Bau

German shipyard Sietas in Hamburg-Neuenfelde and VOSTA LMG are coming together to build two trailing hopper suction dredgers for Josef Möbius Bau-AG. The contract is part of the of the shipyard's current order balance of seven special ships. It is the first time that hopper suction dredgers will be built at Sietas's Neuenfelde shipyard. Sietas has also drawn up a timetable with Josef Möbius Bau-AG and VOSTA LMG for the construction of the ships - commissioned in the summer of 2008 - that responds to the new client's needs.
VOSTA LMG and INAI KIARA sign co-operation agreement

VOSTA LMG delivers dismountable Cutter Suction Dredger

VOSTA LMG has delivered, assembled and commissioned a cutter suction dredge to be used for the Potash production in the Dead Sea by her owners Arab Potash Co. Ltd. from Jordan. The design is specific for the harsh corrosive environmental conditions in which the dredge has to operate. This implies the use of specific materials, adequate cooling capacity and cleaning devices for coolers. Due to the location of the Dead Sea, the dredge was transported by sea and land to her final destination. This is why the dredge was made dismountable. The use of digital technology and modular design allowed easy disassembly and assembly.

VOSTA LMG signed on May 21st a contract with INAI KIARA SDN BHD for the delivery of an engineering and components package for two cutter suction dredges (CSD). The yard which will build the CSD750's will be Port Shipyard & Engineering (PSE) at Kampung Pendamar near Port Kelang in Malaysia. Both CSD's will be equipped with the latest VOSTA LMG cutting and pumping technology, such as the T-system cutter head, three VL750 dredge pumps and a wire system spud carrier installation.

VOSTA LMG launch DURACORE® teeth

VOSTA LMG and Combi Wear Parts have developed a new wear resistant tooth in their T-system to be used on Vosta's modern T- Cutter heads. The work has been done in close co-operation with AB Sandvik Hard Materials.
The new teeth are called DURACORE® and offer an increased wear life compared to the standard products, due to a cemented carbide core in the center of the tooth point. The point shape has been optimized for a perfect balance between strength, penetration and support of the cemented carbide core.
Repeat order for VOSTA LMG: three 10.000 m3 hopper barges

A few months ago VOSTA LMG had been awarded a contract for the delivery of 3 hopper barges for dredging and marine contractor Van Oord in the Netherlands. During the execution of this order VOSTA LMG has received a repeat order for another three 10.000 m3 hopper barges for Van Oord. Just like the previous contract, this contract contains the delivery of a complete engineering and component package. Next to the design and engineering, this includes the delivery of the bottom doors, electrical-, and hydraulic installation. The hopper barges are fitted with a hydraulic bottom door system and a special coupling system for the pusher tug.

VOSTA LMG has been awarded a contract for a cutter suction dredge CSD750 by INTERNATIONAL SEAPORT DREDGING LTD., a joint venture company of the Belgian dredging major Dredging International (member of the DEME group) and the Indian construction giant Larsen & Toubro. The dredge will be used for dredging projects throughout India due to the growing demand from the Indian market for dredging operations.

Jordan, Arab Potash ordered special CSD600
Recently leading engineering and contracting company in the global dredging industry VOSTA LMG received a contract for a cutter suction dredge from Arab Potash in Jordan. The cutter suction dredge is of special design, as the dredge will need to excavate hard salt deposits in extremely corrosive and harsh climate conditions. Ambient site temperatures exceeding 40 dgrs Celsius are common.
