VOSTA LMG is designer and manufacturer of cutter heads and tooth systems for cutter powers of 35 kW up to 6.000 kW. The cutter heads are equipped with in-house developed and patented cutting systems. VOSTA LMG's sand/clay-, multi-purpose and rock cutter heads have significant advantages which guarantee the lowest cost per m3 dredged.
There is a wide range of standard type cutter heads available for almost every size cutter dredger. We can also design the cutter head to the client's request.
Custom made
VOSTA LMG designs any cutter head to your requirements. With our 30 years of experience we can optimise the cutter head or even cutter ladder front part to match the charactaristics of your cutter dredger (swing pull/speed, cutter power/speed, ladder weight/dredge pump) as good as possible. We have performed many comparison tests between the original and custom-made Vosta cutter heads. In all cases there was a significant reduction in cost per m3 dredged.

To meet specific requirements, the Vosta cutter heads can be equipped with several options, such as:

Refits/upgrades
Most of the cutter heads in the world are more than 15 years old and are much less cost-effective than modern cutter heads. We have refurbished many of these cutter heads. We can do this both in our workshop or on location.
A simple refurbishment might be the replacement of an old type of adapter with the latest Vosta adapter type. A more complex refurbishment might be to completely optimize the cutter ladder front part of the dredger to increase the dredger output in order to decrease maintenance cost significantly.
Close to a thousand cutter heads have been supplied to many dredging contractors since 1971, when VOSTA LMG supplied the first cutter head to Volker Stevin. More than 50% of these cutter heads are still operational, proving their durability day by day.
