Side wire blocks
VOSTA LMG side wire blocks are designed to meet the rugged environments a cutter dredge normally encounters. The block is a balanced steel construction, which will always pivot to align to the direction of the side wire. Pivoting of the blocks is done with grease lubricated bronze bushes, which are easy to maintain or replace.
Coupling blocks
The coupling blocks use bolts to connect the pontoons. Depending on the requirements, a block may be fitted with one or two bolts each. After assembly, the bolts have to be pre-stressed with a special hydraulic tool to ensure the rigid connection.
Spuds
VOSTA LMG designs and delivers spuds in all sizes. The spuds' design forms an optimum between diameter, wall thickness and weight. The construction is of rolled steel pipe pieces with varying wall thickness, which are welded together with full pen welds. The spuds are carefully manufactured and checked to ensure roundness and straightness within the specific tolerances.
Suction heads
VOSTA LMG's standard plain suction head is available in a wide range of sizes. The soil is loosened by jet water, which is injected through nozzles arranged around the suction inlet. The plain suction heads are fitted with replaceable jet water nozzles and a steel grid to prevent large rocks or other debris from being dredged up. The welded steel construction is made from grade A steel.
Swivel bends
VOSTA LMG swivel bends are a good option when working with a floating pipeline. The bend can adjust easily to the orientation of the CSD while this is making its dredge swings. The swivel bend will have less wear than a dredge hose and is much more flexible due to a much larger rotation angle.
Turning glands
The turning gland is designed by modular principle for heavy duty operation in any type of soil anywhere in the world. The turning gland enables the draghead to better follow the sea bottom or ocean floor. The turning gland allows a radial rotation in both directions of 15°.
Cardanic joints
VOSTA LMG standard cardanic joints are available in a wide range of diameters. The units are made of a strong steel construction, which can be easily integrated into the side suction pipe of all hopper dredgers. The joints enable the cardanic joint to pivot in both the horizontal and the vertical plane. The maximum deflexion angle of the cardanic joint is 30°.
Side suction systems
VOSTA LMG's side suction systems are designed for efficient dredging of many types of soil. Because of its modular setup, the side suction pipe can easily be adapted to the specific requirements of the dredge. The side suction pipes are designed to work at a maximum working angle of 45°.
Spud carrier
VOSTA LMG spud carriers are designed to reduce spud handling during dredge operations and so increase production of the dredge with 10% to 20%. After completing a swing, the CSD or WSD is pushed forward by the spud carrier, so that it can start a new swing. Once at the end of its travelling range, the auxiliary spud is lowered so that the carrier can be moved to its starting position.
Auxiliary equipment
VOSTA LMG also delivers equipment which is not mounted on the dredger. Such equipment could of course also be used for other applications. Examples are: balljoints, click-in couplings and Side wire coneccting pontoons. Side wire connecting pontoons are floating pontoons which can be rigged between the side wire of the dredger and the anchor. The pontoon will keep the side wire partly off the seabed while the anchor or the vessel are repositioned.
