AUXILIARY EQUIPMENT

VOSTA LMG also delivers equipment which is not mounted on the dredger. Such equipment could of course also be used for other applications. Examples are: ball joints, click-in coupling and Side Wire Connecting pontoons.

Side wire connecting pontoons are floating pontoons which can be rigged between the side wire of the dredger and the anchor. The pontoon will keep the side wire partly off the seabed while the anchor or the vessel are repositioned. This will prevent the wire from getting stuck behind obstacles on the seabed. The pontoons will also absorb any excessive forces on the wire by sinking slightly deeper if the side wire force is increased. This will help to stop the anchor from loosing its grip and will help to increase the lifespan of the wire.

The pontoon is constructed from two coupled sections. The sections are completely containerised as 20' containers, so very easily shipped. Optionally the container pontoons can be supplied with CSC plating.

Another option is a quick release hook for quick demobilisation, which can be operated manually via a floating wire. The wire obviates the need to board the pontoon when the hook needs to be operated. The pontoons are designed for a maximum winch pull of 1850 kN.
