Recently VOSTA LMG signed a supply contract with Tianjin Dredging Corporation (TDC) in China for a Basic Design and Dredging Components package for a Self Propelled Cutter Suction Dredger with a dredging capacity of 4.500m³/hour.

This dredge is of similar design as the well known CSD “URSA” – formerly known as “BILBERG I” which was designed, built and supplied by LMG, Lübeck, Germany in the 1980s. This new CSD however will be of latest technology and features a newly designed hull-structure for best sailing results under all conditions, a state of the art spud system and a VOSTA T6 cutter system. This dredge will be built at a Chinese Shipyard.

Again VOSTA LMG is first to deliver an engineering and components package for a vessel of this size and with these unique features ever in China. Another VOSTA LMG Chinese first was a ‘Basic Design and Dredging Components-package’ for the first ever (size-wise) built in China Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger for Huanghua Port. That TSHD with a hopper capacity of 5000 m³ was built in 2003 at Hudong Shipyard in Shanghai and named “SHENHUA”.

This new self-propelled CSD has a cutter power of 4.200 kW and a dredging depth of 30 meters. Furthermore this CSD will be equipped with the most advanced VOSTA LMG Spud System.
