Coupling blocks

VOSTA LMG coupling blocks are used to connect pontoons or floating structures. The blocks are designed to obtain a rigid coupling between the pontoons.

The coupling blocks use bolts to connect the pontoons. Depending on the requirements, a block may be fitted with one or two bolts each. After assembly, the bolts have to be pre-stressed with a special hydraulic tool to ensure the rigid connection.

Two main types of coupling blocks are available: one for use above deck and the other for submerged use. The submerged types remain watertight due to their special bolts and sealings, which enables coupling of the pontoons in the water.

In combination with classification approval of the hulls construction, BV classification approval can be obtained for the coupled construction. Coupling blocks for allignment of the pontoons are optionally available.
